"You bastard…! You dare talk to me in such a manner?!" he growled and his guard, Torsten, placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him from doing anything foolish.

"You must kneel before the crown prince of Lowenstam and apologize to revert the trouble this instant!" Torsten commanded but Sven stood his ground and didn't move an inch. Declan's rage was fueled even more.

"I will not do such. I did not insult you in any way, so I owe you no apology." he merely replied.

"Then you will kneel in pieces!"

In the face of encroaching demon hunters and their fiery horses, Kael clung tightly to Elise, recognizing the risk he had put her in by yielding to his emotions. Nevertheless, he could not resist his feelings for her. He wrapped his arms around her petite waists, pulling her close and sheltering her from the impending terror that was about to unfold. Amid the chaos, Kael drew comfort from their intimate embrace as he tried to suppress the irresistible urge to unleash his demon.

Darius, the leader of the demon hunters, stepped forward with a cruel smile on his face. "Well, well, well," he sneered. "What do we have here? A thousand-year-old-demon prince in love with a human girl? How sweet. But we all know that love between your kind and ours is strictly forbidden. You know what they say, the forbidden fruit is always the sweetest kind." he snickered, and the others followed suit, cackling hideously in loud, raspy voices that only agitated Kael's demon even more. His fangs momentarily began to elongate and for Elise's sake, he struggled to keep his demon in check.

Kael's heart raced as Darius continued to taunt him, his words like daggers piercing through his resolve. The demon within him stirred, it's dark energy pulsing through his veins. Kael knew he had to protect Elise at all costs, even if it meant giving in to his darker nature.

Without warning, Kael let out a guttural snarl and launched himself at the demon hunters. His dark magic surged forth, tearing through their ranks like a scythe through wheat. Elise watched in awe, both terrified and fascinated by the sheer power of Kael's abilities.

The battle was fierce, the clash of raw power and steel ringing out into the night. Kael fought with a ferocity that Elise had never seen before, his movements fluid and deadly. She couldn't help but feel a sense of fear and yet admiration for the man she loved. Finally, the last of the demon hunters fell, their bodies smoldering in the ashes of their destruction. Kael quickly turned away from Elise, his eyes filled with regret and self-loathing.

"I'm sorry, Elise," he whispered in a deep, guttural voice as his monstrous form slowly returned to its human appearance. his voice gradually restored it's normal tone but heavy with guilt and shame. "You've finally seen the hideous monster that I am."

But Elise just smiled, staring tearfully and lovingly at him from the distance, "I have always known you, Kael," she smiled tearfully. "And I choose you, man or demon. I will stand by your side always and forever."
